FreeJennifer Ott of HistoryLink will be speaking about their new book, Olmsted in Seattle: CReating a Park System for a Modern City.
Join us as HistoryLink’s Jennifer Ott shares with us the origins of Seattle parks designed by the Olmsted Brothers, the pioneering landscape architecture firm. The firm’s work includes many of Seattle’s most popular parks including Seward Park, Mt. Baker Park, Woodland Park, and Volunteer Park.
Environmental Historian Ott is the the Assistant Director with History Link, the free online encyclopedia of Washington state history. Jennifer has held that position since 2017 and worked as a historian with the organization since 2007. Ott has a focus on environmental history and has served on the board of the Friends of Seattle’s Olmsted Parks and the Volunteer Park Trust steering committee.
This presentation is free and open to the public. Free nearby parking is available in the SPU parking lot at 4th Av. W. and W. Dravus St.
