All events on March 7 are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ORAL HISTORY WORKSHOP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Friday, March 6, there will be an all day oral history workshop offered by the Northwest Oral History Association and Special Collections in the Seattle Public Library. Registration information is below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RECEPTION AND ANNUAL MEETING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Friday evening, the Guild will hold its Annual Meeting as well as a reception for members and their guests. The event will run from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at on the 10th floor of the Seattle Central Library located at 1000 Fourth Avenue in Seattle and includes catered hors d\u2019oeuvres and a cash bar (suggested donation $10).. Please use the 4th Avenue entrance for this special gathering. Paid parking in the library\u2019s garage may be accessed from Spring Street, between fourth and fifth avenues.<\/p>\n<p>Following the annual business meeting will be an award presentation honoring Ron Chew, former executive director of the Wing Luke Museum. Highlights include:<\/p>\n<p>9am \u2013 Plenary Session \u2013 \u201cThick Stories of Seattle\u2019s Urban Landscape: Gas Works Park by Richard Haag\u201d<br \/>\nBy <a href=\"http:\/\/larchwp.be.washington.edu\/people\/facultystaff\/staff\/thaisa-way\/\">Dr. Thaisa Way<\/a>, Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Washington College of Built Environments<\/p>\n<p>10:15am- 11:45am \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pnwhistorians.org\/guild\/index.php\/2015-conference-program\/\">diverse sessions on the urban history of the Pacific Northwest <\/a>(click here for full program)<\/p>\n<p>12pm \u2013 Keynote Speaker \u2013 \u201cHistory Underfoot: Seattle\u2019s Storied Landscape\u201d<br \/>\nBy <a href=\"http:\/\/geologywriter.com\/books\/the-seattle-street-smart-naturalist\/\">David B. Williams<\/a> a freelance writer whose work focuses on the intersection of people and the natural world. His books include <em>Stories in Stone: Travels Through Urban Geology<\/em>, <em>The Seattle Street-Smart Naturalist: Field Notes from the City<\/em> and his latest, <em>Cairns: Messengers in Stone<\/em>.
