Thursday March 28, 2019

Social hour starts at 7 pm and presentation at 7:30 pm

Walk down any street in Seattle, turn the corner, and you are likely to discover art enhancing the city’s public spaces – from historical statues to abstract sculptures. The downtown area alone has over 350 artworks alone for all to enjoy. How did Seattle amass such a vast collection? What does it tell us about our city?  Join Jim Rupp, author of Art in Seattle’s Public Spaces, from SoDo to South Lake Union as he weaves through over 100 years of urban art collecting. This presentation is free and open to the public. Meet in the Seminar Room of the Ames Library on the Seattle Pacific University campus. Free parking is available in the SPU lot at 4th Av. W. and W. Dravus St.
